I am currently the Teaching and Learning Coordinator in the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) at Northern Illinois University . Through this role, I assist faculty at NIU across disciplines to improve their teaching practices by developing and leading instructional workshops and conducting teaching observations at the request of faculty and administration.
I also am part-time English Faculty at Columbia College of Chicago (since 2020), Elgin Community College (since 2015), Harper College (since 2015), and College of DuPage (since 2013). I have also taught at Waubonsee Community College, McHenry County College, Ashford University, and Northern Illinois University. I have been teaching college English since 2008. My teaching philosophy focuses on active learning and process learning theory, and I am continually updating course materials, assessments, and methodology to improve my students' learning experiences and foster a creative, effective, and inclusive learning environment. |
